Intraocular Lens Implants

Innovative laser procedures like LASIK may be life-changing for young adults, but it doesn’t offer the same long-term benefits for patients 55 and older. Laser vision correction does not prevent the natural aging process that causes the eyes’ lenses to become less flexible (presbyopia) and cloudy (cataract). Lens replacement procedures address both presbyopia and cataracts, resulting in lifelong vision correction.

Dr. Wu refers to this procedure as “one and done.”  There are different types of IOL implants to give you lifelong freedom from presbyopia, reading glasses, and cataracts!

Our Advanced Technology for Intraocular Lens Implants

Part of Dr. Wu’s approach is using the most cutting-edge technology and methods for vision correction surgery.  One EyeCare offers a variety of premium IOL options, including multifocal, accommodating, and toric IOLs for each patient’s unique needs. Dr. Wu performs femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), using a laser to make incisions for increased precision.

Leveraging her state-of-the-art technology and experience treating cornea conditions, she takes careful measurements of the eye to ensure the correct lens implant is selected. Dr. Wu utilizes the Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) (™) System to get real-time live measurements during surgery.  This technology is beneficial for patients who have undergone previous refractive surgery (LASIK, RK), cornea disease, or complex calculations.
