What Makes Dr. Wu’s EVO Visian ICL Different

Dr. Wu prioritizes using the latest technology and methods to perform EVO Visian ICL, a unique implantable collamer lens that corrects your vision.  With her advanced technology and methods, she can often offer this procedure to patients whom other eye surgeons have turned away.

Dr. Wu customizes the treatment profile for each patient based on their individual needs and pre-surgery scans. Furthermore, Dr. Wu can help patients achieve improved vision if they are dissatisfied with the results from a previous procedure elsewhere.

What Our Patients’ Say

Learn More About EVO Visian ICL

Evo Visian ICL uses an implantable lens made of collamer, a collagen-based material safe to place in the body. This procedure can correct issues like severe nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism. Dr. Wu calls this an “Instagram procedure” since many patients are thrilled with the results the day after surgery and often eagerly share their happy news on social media, excited about their new glasses-free life.

Anyone considering vision correction should consult with an experienced cornea refractive eye surgeon like Dr. Jennifer Wu. She will assess your eyes and discuss your health history, lifestyle, and unique needs to help determine the best treatment option for you.

Patients with myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and other refractive errors can significantly improve their vision with Dr. Wu’s EVO Visian ICL. In general, ideal candidates should be over 18 with overall healthy eyes and stable vision. People who cannot have laser eye surgery, such as LASIK, may still be good candidates for an implantable lens. Since it does not remove any part of the cornea, it is safer for those with corneal issues, chronic dry eye, or other problems.

During the EVO Visian ICL procedure, Dr. Wu makes a small incision and uses it to insert your vision-correcting collamer lens. This lens is placed between the colored part of the eye (the iris) and your natural lens, where it adds an extra layer of focus to correct refractive errors. The procedure takes 15 to 20 minutes, and you can return home afterward with someone to drive you.

Very little recovery is needed since EVO ICL doesn’t remove any tissue and requires only tiny incisions. Patients typically have little to no discomfort from the procedure and can resume their usual activities within two days.

You will need to use prescription eye drops and avoid eye makeup, contact sports, and swimming for a week. Many people have instantly improved vision after the procedure, but optimal results may take a few weeks. You shouldn’t be able to feel or see the ICL in your eyes.

Patients can usually return to work a day or two after their procedure. You’ll have follow-up appointments with Dr. Wu so she can monitor your recovery and progress. Typically, your first follow-up will be the day after surgery, and you will have a few appointments after that for six months.

Most patients notice improved vision almost immediately after EVO Visian ICL. Most people achieve 20/20 vision or better. Some patients still need glasses or contact lenses. Dr. Wu can discuss what improvements you can expect based on your unique case.

EVO Visian ICL is designed to offer permanent vision enhancement. However, one of the benefits of the procedure is that it’s fully reversible. The ICL can be replaced or removed if your prescription changes or if you have cataract surgery later. Patients typically enjoy improved vision for years with EVO ICL. Unlike LASIK, EVO Visian ICL does not increase the risk of dry eye. It can also improve night vision in some cases.

The cost of your EVOL ICL procedure depends on several factors. Your provider’s skill, experience, and location play a significant role. The type of ICL implant determines the cost of the implant itself.

Whether your surgeon performs your EVO ICL procedure at a surgery center (with anesthesia) or in an in-office procedure suite also determines the overall cost of your treatment.

The average cost of this procedure is $4,000 to $6,000 per eye. Only a consultation can determine what you can realistically expect. During your consultation, you will learn about the details of your procedure as well as a breakdown of the total costs.
